ESCAPE! Get away from the hustle and bustle, crowds and traffic of "Town" (the Honolulu/Waikiki side). Just a 40 minute drive from Honolulu International Airport (and a nice drive at that!), you can be in another world. Clean air, cool trade winds, clean water and fantastic uncrowded beaches. |
The Turtle Beach cottage is a nicely renovated and very comfortable 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom home, perfect for a couple or a family of up to four. This ocean front cottage is situated on one of the nicest beaches on the North Shore of Oahu, and no nearby public access means you just might have... THE BEACH ALL TO YOURSELF!
From late October through March, this beach becomes a surfer`s heaven with some of Hawaii's best lesser known (uncrowded) surf spots right out the back door. Get out in the water, or just sit on the lanai and watch.
Inside...you will find a warm and friendly atmosphere with all the comforts of home including beautiful furnishings, telephone, TV, DVD player, and radio with CD player (bring your CD's). Fresh linens (for one queen size and two twin size beds) and bath towels are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped--range/oven, microwave oven, refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, blender, pots, pans, dishes, etc... Outside...you will find a fenced parking area, a hot/cold shower for cooling off or after-swim rinsing...and the greatest back yard one could hope for! | | | The best "Room" in the House (the lanai!) |
Relax on the lanai and enjoy incredible views of the ocean, waves, surfers, frolicking whales (November through April), dolphins, and TURTLES (so many, we named the place after them!). And the sunsets? Well, they're awesome! Take a relaxing stroll down the beach......or take a swim. The snorkeling is great, especially when the surf is down, and just in the distance (75 yds or so, down to the right) is a calm little lagoon perfect for small kids and the less adventurous. Ideally situated, the Turtle Beach Cottage has everything you might need close by. Heading North, beautiful Waimea Bay (home of some of the world's biggest rideable surf) is just about a mile away. Just past that is a big new supermarket (with a Starbucks!). A few minutes past that are the famous surfing beaches of Ehukai (home of the Banzai Pipeline) and Sunset Beach.
Five minutes farther North is the Turtle Bay Resort, with 2 fine 18-hole golf courses, excellent tennis courts, and fine dining. Heading to the South, three miles away is the old sugar plantation/surfer town of Haleiwa, with enjoyable local shopping and many nice restaurants.
Be sure to visit Matsumoto`s for "shave ice," Storto's Deli (my favorite lunch spot), Kua'Aina Sandwich for "Oahu's best hamburgers," and Haleiwa Joe's for fine dining, lunch and dinner. Haleiwa Harbor is home port of the "Foxy Lady"--your connection for exciting deep sea sport fishing charters, and the Ho'o Nanea Catamaran--the folks to know for sunset/whalewatching/ snorkeling cruises. Hey! THIS IS THE PLACE!! We provide everything you need (except your transportation, clothes, toilet articles, and food) for a fantastic vacation. Stay a week, maybe two...you might even consider leaving the date open on your return ticket... you're not gonna want to leave!
Aloha.
